Amazon’s Fire HD 10 Tablet is Just the Right Tablet At A Budget Price

The Fire HD 10 tablet was updated with an HD screen by Amazon last year with a price of $230. This year, however, Amazon is getting the display fans have been waiting for and at a much lower price.

Amazon fans are in for a treat as the tablet will now come with a FullHD screen and double storage to boot, the All-New Kindle Fire HD 10 is ready to roll out next month.

Display

The new Fire HD 10 brings improvements across the board. The IPS panel of the new screen measures 10.1” and has a resolution of 1920 x 1,200px (224ppi). Previously the resolution was 1,280 x 800px, which was a bit low for a 10 inch tablet.

Internals & Storage

Average battery life has improved from 8 hours to 10. Dual speakers have Dolby Atmos support improving the overall sound quality and favouring the tablet as a device for media consumption.

Storage in the entry-level model is 32 GB (with a 64 GB option as well) which is an improvement compared to 16 GB of storage of the previous edition. As before, a micro-SD card slot shall let you expand storage by up to 256GB.

The RAM has been increased to 2GB, compared to 1GB of RAM for the previous version.

Of the many newly added features, the one thing that has not been upgraded is the quad-core processor. It will employs the same two high performance 1.8GHz cores and two low power ones.

Other Features

You also get a 2MP rear camera which can record videos at 720p. The front camera is capable of VGA photos and videos. Either way, don’t expect any miracles from the camera department if you ever shoot photos and videos using a tablet that is.

The tablet of course comes in with Alexa built in, Amazon’s digital assistant. However, Alexa can now work hands-free though it can be turned off using the control panel.

The Fire HD 10 will come in three colours: black, red and blue. It will also have optional covers priced at $40.

If you’re used to using an iPad, you may not be impressed with the plastic, relatively heavy feel of the Fire HD tablet. But if you’re looking for a decent media consumption tablet at a low price, the new Fire HD 10 could be worth a look.

The pricing for the tablet starts at $150 which is $80 less than its entry-level price last year and it will become available on October 11 in the US. Chances of being officially sold in Pakistan are zero to none, but its possible the device might make its way to online retailers in the country soon.

  • And online retailer will sell this tablet at the price of Samsung S8. I won’t be fooled by these Pakistani’s online websites, will go for Ali Express, Ebay and Amazon. Much cheaper items there.
