Pakistan has been blessed with all kinds of scenic tourist spots including tall mountains, wide valleys, majestic lakes, and what not. Its not a far stretch to say that Pakistan has all the essential ingredients to have a thriving tourism industry.
However, various factors have resulted in the decline of tourism in the country. The main reason perhaps has been the ineffectiveness of those in charge of the tourism industry.
Those managing this industry have not been very creative and innovative. But perhaps this is about to change with the introduction of a new tourist information center.
Tourist Information Center
The new, under-construction Islamabad airport would very soon have a Tourist Information Center developed by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC).
According to a PTDC representative, the TIC is to be developed at the new airport in a duration of 3 months. The TIC would have proper duty schedules and updated details to aid both local and foreign travelers.
The PTDC employee also stated that on arrival at the airport, hotel and transport booking facilities would be given to the tourists so they could spend their stay in Pakistan with ease.
He also said that development of TICs is an important part of restoring and improving the tourism industry of Pakistan.
The official added that the PTDC was also working on creating a centralized reservation and booking mechanism for all corporations’ facilities present in the country.
