KWICK to Establish Smart Tech Innovation Center at Bahria University

Bahria University (BU) has signed an Agreement with KWICK High Tech Solutions on 25th September 2017 for establishment of Smart Technologies Innovation Development Center (STIDC) at Bahria University.

The Agreement signing Ceremony was held at Bahria University Head Office Islamabad with dignitaries from Bahria University, KWICK HIGH TECH, Ministry of Planning Commission & Reforms, Embassy of Germany – Pakistan and Mitsui Corporation Japan.

Bahria University in collaboration with KWICK High Tech will establish Smart Technologies Innovation Development Centre at its Islamabad Campus. The centre will focus on bringing the best technical resources in the form of qualified trainers, faculty and
providing best technology based solutions for the industry.

Smart Technologies Innovation Development Center (STIDC) will generate scientific research and help in transforming this research into real life technology solutions. The centre will be equipped with state of the art hardware and software tools to provide training and solution in the areas of infrastructure planning, simulation, smart traffic management, smart city initiatives, artificial intelligence, robotics, FINTECH and Smart devices etc.

While addressing the audience, Rear Admiral (Retd) Shahid Saeed HI (M), Pro-Rector Bahria University said that:

Bahria University is emphasizing on development of technical research expertise and smart technologies which is mandatory to keep up the face with international research and academic development standards.

Mr. Waseem Rafi, CEOKWICK High Tech, said that this collaboration between Bahria University and KWICK High Tech is a good example of academia industrial linkage to provide training and solutions in advanced technologies for the industry.

Dr. Athar Osama. Member of the Planning Commission shed light on the current initiatives undertaken by the Government of Pakistan for establishment of innovation centres in the universities of Pakistan. He assured his full cooperation to Bahria University in the said initiative.

Mr. Martin Haznir, Commercial Counselor Embassy of Germany – Pakistan discussed potential areas of collaboration between Germany and Pakistan in the fields of technology, renewable energy and smart finances.

Dr. Shehzad Khalid, Director ORIC, Bahria University, expressed that it is an exciting time for both Bahria University as well as KWICK High tech to join hands for the establishment of state of the art facility to support innovation and development of smart technology based solutions in the country.
