All You Need to Know About Punjab Education Endownment Fund’s Scholarships

The Punjab Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) is one of the biggest initiatives of its kind for youth empowerment. Started by Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, the program hopes to educate talented yet underprivileged students by way of scholarships.

PEEF Statistics

Young students from all across the country can benefit from the project. According to the Chief Minister, more than 7 billion rupees have been spent on students through PEEF so far, awarding a total of 235,000 scholarships in the process.

The project has been allocated a budget of Rs 17.5 billion. Currently, more than 12000 applications for Masters level programs are under process.

The CM said:

Had the project started 70 years ago, we would have been on an altogether different level in the field of education. Youth development and empowerment is the key to the prosperity of nations.

He added that today many students are benefiting from quality education and that they will help in national development in the future. There should be no concept of rich and poor in educational institutes. The CM believes that PEEF represents a major step towards educating all.

Eligibility Criteria for Punjab Education Endowment Fund:

Students who want to qualify for scholarships from the Punjab Education Endowment Fund need to meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. They should possess a Punjab Domicile
  2. Thy should’ve secured at least 60% marks. Alternatively they should have a minimum 2.5 CGPA in BA, BSc, B.CS, BS, B. Com etc.
  3. Passed above-mentioned examinations (held annually) in the year 2015, 106, or 2017.
  4. Have a declared monthly income of less than Rs. 30,000 from all sources.

How to Apply

To apply for PEEF program, students should secure admission in any partner university or Govt. Post Graduate College in Punjab.

Students will have to fill out the PEEF application form and submit it to financial Aid Office / Student Resource Center in their university. Alternatively they can submit it to the Principal Office of Govt. Post Graduate Colleges in Punjab.

Please note that applications submitted directly to the PEEF office shall not be entertained.
