Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One Phone is Coming to Pakistan

We have some good news for Xiaomi fans in Pakistan. Xiaomi Mi A1 is finally coming to Pakistan. You can expect to see the phone in online stores by the end of this month.

Xiaomi’s representatives for Pakistan have confirmed that the phone will be up for sale during the latter part of October.

Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One smartphone was built with collaboration between Google and the Chinese smartphone giant. The Android One programme is one of Google’s projects which aims to provide affordable smartphones for 3rd world countries with quick Android updates.

Design and Display

The Mi A1 comes in a unibody metal frame complete with a dual camera setup and a fingerprint sensor on the back. The phone looks relatively simple from the front however.

For the display, Mi A1 uses a 5.5 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution IPS LCD display.

Internals and Storage

Powering the Mi A1 is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, a mid-range staple. It has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of expandable storage. Unfortunately it has a hybrid microSD/SIM card slot meaning you can’t go for a dual SIM+ microSD card combo.

  • I am waiting for Motorola G5S Plus in Pakistan, that is lot better in quality as compare to Chinese Xiaomi. Moto phones already have stock android with some useful features add-on with no bloatware.
So why need android phone from chinese company.

      • Dude i have a clear idea what Android One project is and xiaomi will not be the only company making android one phone, upcoming Moto X4 will also come in Android One version also. More still to come.
However android one is just a stock android software that any company can use, the real difference comes in the quality of hardware and the implementation, in which Motorola is miles ahead of these chinese brands. Motorola is even a trend setter like Apple. Chinese just copy the trends and sell in a cheap price.

    • Bhaiya, Motorola ab lenovo k pass hai aur lenovo chinese brand hai to motorola bhi chines howa na.

      • Sir Motorola ka engineering & tech dept aj bhi alag hai Lenovo se. Moto is a US based company which has its own standards.
Lenovo sirf distributor hai aur Motorola ki marketing, finances aur support ka responsible hai, engineering ka nahin.
So you can’t mix lenovo tech with Motorola tech. Motorola is still far more superior brand than lenovo counterparts.

    • MOTO GS5s is expensive. MGS5s gonna cost you around 30,000 to 32000 if it ever comes to Pakistani Market. Where as A1’s gonna cost you 28,000 to 30,000.

      • In terms of quality even in that price tag Moto G5S Plus will be a worthy buy. Moto G5s plus offer many more fearures that xiaomi will not provide you and yes those feature don’t usually mention on spec sheets, you have to use them to experience them.

    • Since Lenovo took over, Motorola has gone to shit. Gone are timely updates, and there are loads of variants. I am using Xiaomi since Redmi Note 3. The hardware is solid, customer support is fantastic (recently replaced my redmi 4A, only fault was screen didn’t respond) and there security updates are bimonthly. They do lag on Android OS updates but there interface makes it up for the features in newer versions.

      • I am currently using Moto Z Play, and believe me it has given me the best experience yet. Got my nouget update recently along with the latest security patch 2 weeks ago, yes it will update to Oreo also. So timely updates are not an issue, even if they come after 2 to 3 months.
Till now Motorola’s software is much cleaner than Xiaomi phones with addition of some useful gesture features which xiaomi is not providing
You already mentioned that you replaced your xiaomi because of some screen fault, so that shows the inferior quality of xiaomi.
I was using Moto G 2 before buying Moto Z play. I used Moto G 2 for almost 3 years and it’s still working perfect and my Mother is using it now. That speaks the Quality of Motorola, that chinese companies including Xiaomi lacks.

  • I will not buy if the price is more than Rs.26K

SmartLink technologies have looted Pakistan with Max 2.

  • Mi Max 2 price in dubai equivalent of Pak Rs. 21,000 Mi Max 2 price in Pakistan thanks to our very own stupid Xiaomi Pakistan Rs. 36,000. Messing up the xiaomi business model of providing good quality phones at cheaper prices. In Pakistan everything is about margins whereas quantities make more profits and market share

  • $220 equals 23182.50 PKR

i guess a price of 25k would be justified but this is Xiaomi Pakistan … they will want sth more like 28k

poor price either ways for s SD 625 phone !

    • You are forgetting 4000 tax that Pakistan Govt charge on this range of smartphone. So 28K is minimum price xiaomi pak can offer. Don’t blame xiaomi pak for higher prices, its Pak Govt.

      • If the price in India is INR 15k, then how come Pakistan charges more?

        P.S: INR 15k = PKR 24k

        • Because Xiaomi is making handsets in china hence import duty didn’t effect price. And there are not other taxes as well. But here are at least 4K tax on more than 20K device. So don’t compare price here with india or other markets.

  • i dont think so it will release in pakistan they have already said it will be release in first week of october but now later october and then may be so on … but i am excited about this phone it is really outclass phone but ;lets see price

  • “With Mi A1’s launch, Pakistani mobile users will finally get flagship class camera performance.”

No, we won’t. It’s a dual camera phone, but look closely.

The apertures are too wide at f/2.2 and f/2.6 so the result will be… Meh! The aperture on The new iPhone 8 is f/1.8 while The LG V30 has a class-leading f/1.6.

But again, The PURE ANDROID is just… Amazing! It makes you forget everything about this device. It’s like a Mini-Nexus!

  • The price has to be under PKR 25k. With its price on Flipkart (Indian Site) as INR 15k, and Aliexpress as USD 220, and keeping in mind that Xiaomi officially sells its products in Pakistan, the price must not be more than PKR 25k. Google has always marketed AndroidOne as a budget phone. Xiaomi too, is known for mid range phones.
So it would be a huge surprise if the price exceeds PKR 25,000.
