Pakistanis Get Lectured on Road Safety By Dubai Police

Road accidents are one of the leading causes of injury or death around the world. Consequently, a lot of accidents are caused by drivers being unaware of the proper rules, regulations and safety measures used while driving.

To that end, the Pakistan Association of Dubai (PAD) recently organized a road safety session in Dubai. The “safety first awareness” session was organized in collaboration with Dubai Police and Pakistan Consulate Dubai.

The awareness campaign’s theme was “No Safety Know Pain – Know Safety No Pain”.

Around 100 Pakistanis from Dubai participated in the session. The police briefed the participants about the new traffic laws and fines introduced in the city. First Lieutenant Hamdan Ahmed Al Muhairi from the Dubai Police was the chief guest at the event.

Leading Causes of Accidents

The safety first awareness session was conducted by Police Officer Omer Usman. He told the participants about initiatives undertaken by Dubai Police for promoting road safety. He also highlighted the dangerous habits and tendencies that can lead to accidents.

He added,

One of the major causes of road accident is the use of mobile phones during driving, this not only put their lives in danger but also public lives on risk and leads to fatal accidents.

Welfare Attaché Asma Ali Awan from Pakistan Consulate Dubai thanked PAD and the community members for making this session successful, she said,

Pakistan Consulate will organise such events on a larger scale in association with the collaboration of PAD and Dubai Police.

Needed in Pakistan

Events like this are the need of the hour, especially for us. If you have encountered traffic in Lahore, Rawalpindi or one of those notorious jams in Karachi, you’ll know well enough the importance of these initiatives for Pakistan.
