Blackberry’s Latest Flagship Ditches the Keyboard for a Full Touchscreen

Mere days after Blackberry Motion’s images leaked , TCL went with the flow and announced the phone. It was unveiled yesterday at the GITEX Technology Week in Dubai.

From the looks of it, Blackberry Motion looks like a KeyOne without the keyboard. However, it has a few additional features that aren’t visible from the get-go.

Design and Display

As mentioned earlier, Motion looks like a Blackberry KeyOne sans the keyboard. It has the same textured back flanked by metal sides. It has a 5.5 inch, 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution display on the front, with a home button embedded with a fingerprint sensor underneath.

What’s new in the Motion is the IP 67 dust and water resistance, which was absent on the KeyOne.

Internals and Storage

Powering the insides of the Motion is the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 4 GB of RAM. Internal storage is set at 32 GB, expandable by 2TB via a microSD card.

It runs Android 7.1 Nougat with Blackberry’s suite of security apps pre-installed.

Camera & Battery

It has a similar 12 MP camera on the back with an LED flash. There’s an 8MP camera at the front as well. Details are scarce about the cameras at the moment.

As for the battery, the Motion has a 4,000 mAh unit, an upgrade from KeyOne’s 3,505 mAh. It also supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 to cover your fast charging needs.

Blackberry Motion is currently available in the middle east with a price of Dh 1,699 (~Rs. 48,700).
