Samsung Unveils the ‘New’ J2 2017 with 4G Support
1 week ago
Samsung has announced the J2 2017 budget smartphone. Even though it has the “2017” moniker, the phone is not an update by any means and is in fact, a downgrade from the J2 2016.
Design and Display
As you can see from the image above, it looks largely the same as the Galaxy J2 from 2015. The J2 2017 has a 4.7-inch qHD (960 x 540) Super AMOLED screen, which is exactly the same as the 2015 model.
It doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor, which is a bummer considering that several budget smartphones in Pakistan have one.
Internals and Storage
The Galaxy J2 is powered by the Samsung Exynos 3475, quad-core 1.3 GHz processor. It has 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage, nothing has changed on that front.
J2 is a dual SIM phone by default and supports 4G, so that’s a plus.
Camera, Battery, and Price
The primary camera on the J2 2017 is a 5 MP shooter with autofocus and a LED flash. The front camera houses a 2 MP sensor.
A 2,000 mAh battery keeps the lights on for the J2 2017. No fast charging support is included.
As for the price, the J2 2017 is currently available in India for INR 7,390 which is around Rs. 12,000. No word on a Pakistani release yet.
