Students of Allama Iqbal Open University can now avail the opportunity to get a laptop in the new phase of Prime Minister’s Youth Program. The university, on Monday, announced the laptop distribution phase 4 and 5.
The eligible students, who fulfill the criteria set by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), could apply for laptops by 30th November. All the currently enrolled students of AIOU can avail this opportunity. If a student of AIOU is interested in applying for this opportunity, he/she can go to the AIOU site or visit the HEC website to check the eligibility criteria.
The AIOU website says this about the Prime Minister Youth Program,
Prime Minister Youth Program is a special initiative launched by the Government of Pakistan in 2013 for five (05) years. The Youth Program comprises of several schemes including Prime Ministers Interest-Free Loan Scheme, Prime Ministers Youth Business Loans, Prime Ministers Youth Training Scheme, Prime Ministers Youth Skills Development Scheme, Prime Ministers Fee Reimbursement Scheme for Students from Less Developed Areas and Prime Ministers Laptops Scheme.
Prime Ministers Laptops Scheme (PMLNS) is for Talented Students with the main objective of this scheme is an attempt to enhance the scope of research and quality education in the country and increase the access to information technology.
25,000 students, from various parts of the country, have been given laptops under the Prime Minister Youth Program.
