Skillsfirst Brings Diamond Challenge for High School Entrepreneurs to Pakistan

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, SkillsFirst (A project of DEMO) is proud to partner with University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship on the 2018 Diamond Challenge, an entrepreneurship competition for high school students.

Students compete for $100,000 in cash and awards that may be used to support their entrepreneurial endeavors or to pursue higher education. As part of the local pitching competition, the winning team will be awarded $1,000 prize money to accelerate their efforts.

To apply, students need to head here and submit their application before January 5, 2017.

This competition in Pakistan is being organized with support from the National Incubation Center Islamabad where the final pitching session of the Diamond Challenge will take place on Feb 9, 2017.

Rachel Strauss, Horn Entrepreneurship’s Youth Programs Coordinator said,

SkillsFirst is truly a pioneer in expanding entrepreneurship education around the globe and we cannot wait to see the hundreds of lives that will be positively impacted and changed for the better as a result of enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Islamabad.

Through this partnership, SkillsFirst aims to establish an ecosystem for the young ones to learn skills that will help them join the workforce of the future or to develop ideas of their own that could one day become sustainable ventures.

Since its foundation in 2012, the Diamond Challenge has reached more than 3500 students from 155 schools and 35 countries worldwide. The competition has recently been ranked one of the top 29 best international business plan competitions by Alpha Gamma, a business portal for millennials.

The Diamond Challenge is part of the Paul & Linda McConnell Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative launched in 2014. Its purpose is to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurial thinkers.
