PTCL and Jazz Top Customer Complaints in PTA’s Latest Survey

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has stated that it received 3,678 complaints from telecom consumers against different telecom operators including (cellular operators, PTCL, LDIs, WLL operators and ISPs) in October 2017.

According to PTA data, PTCL leads the chart with 1,324 and Jazz (Mobilink + Warid) stands at second position as the most complained telecom operator with 878 complaints.

PTA said that it was able to get 3,599 complaints resolved i.e. 97 percent.

Cellular mobile subscribers constitute major part of the overall telecom subscriber base, therefore, maximum number of complaints belong to this segment. Total number of complaints against CMOs during October 2017 stood at 2,311.

In terms of the segregation of complaints on operator basis, a total of 878 complaints were received against Jazz which holds 37.9% of the total CMO related complaints.

Telenor, which has the second largest number of consumers, was second with 609 i.e. 26.3 percent complaints were received against it.

Zong stood third with 474 complaints i.e. 20.5 percent of total complaints.

Ufone had 350 complaints against its various services which make up 15.14 percent of the total CMO related complaints.

    Both companies have the highest subscriber base on their respective platforms by FAR hence the most amount of complaints.
