Pakistan Post Announces Same Day Delivery Service

Pakistan Post is all set to formally launch a new delivery service called “Same Day Delivery” in a bid to ensure speedy transportation of consignments in 24 selected areas of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Thursday.

Minister for Postal Services, Maulana Syed Ameer Zaman Bukhari, will inaugurate the service, Post Master General Arshad Ali Khan told the media today.

He said the service was being launched under the directives of Prime Minister to make the organization a profit-earning and vibrant entity.

Same Day Delivery Details

Using the service people, especially the business community, will have the facility to dispatch and receive their goods – of up to 20 kilograms – at the shortest possible time on the day of the booking.

Charges will be Rs 150 for 500 gram weight consignment with additional charges of Rs 50 against each 500 gram addition in the parcel.

Whereas, he said, the clients would be informed through SMS about the status of their mail, parcels and gifts sent to their dear ones.

Service Availability

Arshad said special desks were being established at 24 designated branches of Pakistan Post, which will be equipped with motorbikes for speedy and timely service.

Further elaborating the service, he said the booking will be available for three hours, from 8:30 am to 11:30 AM, following which the consignments would be processed for quick delivery.

Initially, he said, the service will be available as a pilot project at different designated post offices of Islamabad including;

  • Islamabad GPO,
  • F-7 Post Mall,
  • F-10 Markaz,
  • G-5 Foreign Service,
  • G-10,
  • G-9 Markaz,
  • I-10/4,
  • I-8/4,
  • F-6 Markaz,
  • F-8 Markaz,
  • G-7 Markaz,
  • G-8 Markaz,
  • I-9 Markaz
  • Post office situated at Prime Minister office,
  • Rawalpindi GPO,
  • Katcheri Chowk,
  • Urdu Bazar,
  • Westridge,
  • Lal Kurti,
  • Gawalmandi,
  • Bahria Town phase 8 & 4
  • Commercial Market Centre, Satellite Town.

After seeing the public response, the service will be extended to other cities, he added.
