LUMS and BUITEMS Get the Contract for NIC Quetta

After delivering results in Islamabad and Lahore, the government of Pakistan recently inaugurated National Incubation Centres in Peshawar and Karachi.

To take one step further, Ignite has now awarded the contract for NIC Quetta to LUMS and Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Sciences (BUITEMS).

 

Ignite works under the direct supervision of Ministry of Information Technology & Telecom, which organized the contract awarding ceremony in Islamabad on February 21, 2018. State Minister for IT and Telecom, Anusha Rahman was also present in the ceremony.

What It Means for Quetta

Under this duly signed contract, NIC will provide the following facilities to the residents of Quetta and surrounding areas:

  • Inviting local and foreign investors for startups
  • Providing free workspace to the entrepreneurs
  • Providing experienced mentors to the entrepreneurs
  • Free access to mobile, internet, and technology platforms and services

Much more will be added to the list with the passage of time to help young and enthusiastic entrepreneurs turn their dreams into a reality.

VC LUMS, Sohail Naqvi addressed the participants, praising the role of Ignite and especially Ministry of IT for setting up the Incubation Centre in Quetta. 

VC BUITEMS Ahmad Farooq Bazai was also grateful to the government of Pakistan for providing Balochistan, an opportunity to use the best available resources.

Ignite’s CEO, Yousaf Hassan spoke to the ceremony expressing his views regarding the timely completion of NIC Quetta. He was confident that setting the center up in Quetta will be a game changer for the youth of Balochistan.
