Samsung Unveils Mid-range Notebook 3 and 5

Samsung is launching two new laptops in its Notebook 5 and 3 series, targeted towards the mid-range market. Prices are unfortunately not known as of yet.

Both the Notebooks will be available for sale later this month in Samsung’s home market.

The lower-end version will be available in both 14″ and 15.6″ versions, with the 15″ version coming with an optional 1080p display.

Under the hood, you get either a quad-core Intel 8th-generation Kaby Lake processor or a dual-core 7th-generation processor, as well as both SSD and HDD storage options.

Samsung has yet to announce the exact RAM and storage combos for each of these machines. Both 14 and 15-inch versions come with Intel integrated HD graphics, though the bigger variant comes with optional 2 GB Nvidia MX110 discrete graphics.

Battery capacity is set at 43Wh for both variants, with the 14-inch Notebook 3 weighing 1.66 KG and the 15-inch version coming in at 1.97 KG

It’ll be available in Misty Gray, Night Charcoal, Deep Peach, and Pure White.

The laptop comes with a 15.6″ 1080p display by default. The processor and storage options are also likely the same, though, again we can only speculate as Samsung hasn’t specified any of them yet. The more powerful 2 GB Nvidia MX150 does come by default in the Notebook 5, being one of the few major differences.
