Following a Snub From PCB, Fawad Alam Signs For Lancashire League

Following a disappointing end to the hopes of returning to the national cricket team, Fawad Alam is moving on and has agreed to play England’s domestic cricket.

The 32-year old has scored over 15,000 runs in Pakistan’s domestic circuit which has not guaranteed a safe return to the Pakistan Test side despite the retirement of Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan.

Fawad Alam, who has been backed by Rashid Latif and Wasim Akram along with other prominent names, claimed that he will keep on playing his game until selectors deliver justice and select him on basis of his supreme performances.

However, in the meanwhile, Fawad will feature for Clitheroe Cricket Club in the Lancashire League. This will be the second time Alam will be representing the club, as last time he helped them to championship glory.

The news was revealed by Saj Sadiq, who is a renowned sports journalist. He wrote on Twitter:

Fawad currently has 27 centuries and 57 half-centuries in first-class cricket at an average of 55.37 whereas he maintains an average of 40 in ODIs.

With the quality Fawad possesses, it is a great step for his personal development and if he manages to perform in overseas conditions again, it will be a huge slap in the face of the selectors and Sarfraz Ahmed who claimed that Fawad was not selected due to his lack of game time in recent times.

Clitheroe Cricket Club has won the championship 15 times and will be looking to continue their tremendous run with help of Alam by their side.
