Uber’s Bike-Hailing Service is Now Available in Karachi

Uber, the global smartphone app that seamlessly connects riders to drivers, has launched its bike-sharing service uberMOTO in Karachi. This service follows the extremely successful launch of uberMOTO in Lahore last month, giving thousands of people access to quick, convenient and affordable transport at the push of a button through the Uber app.

A safety session was held in collaboration with Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) for the motorbike riders before the launch. The session provided guidance and information to the Uber motorbike-riders on the best road-safety practices to adopt while on the road.

An ‘uberMOTO ride Karachi’ was also held, where Uber showed support to the Karachi biker community and emphasized the use of safety gear when using uberMOTO. For every rider that joined the bike ride, Uber Pakistan donated a helmet to a motorbike-rider.

The ‘uberMOTO ride Karachi’ started from Urdu Science College and went through Neepa, Nagun Chorangi, Nazimabad, Civic Center and Quaid-e-Azam road. The biker community and partner-drivers showed their support to the cause by joining the ride and appreciating Uber Pakistan’s efforts in ensuring safety for drivers as well as the riders.

Uber continues to showcase its reinforced commitment to Pakistan, developing a range of services to meet riders, drivers and cities’ needs and standards.

  • Compliments to Uber with various services of ride hailing, sharing, on preferable routes in Karachi where commuters who do not get a seat in the bus, or hang, should avail this.
Uber is the only authentic transport brand in Pakistan which complies Road Safety under the UN safety protocols which it had taken care off. As we all know Advertising is very easy and exploit naive consumer with deceptive, false claims, incentives. I suggest our Anti Trust Competition Authority should take serious notice on ride hailing services with incentives, perks, without the real delivery. The bike sharing concept majoring in China is the most welcoming thing. Uber should lobby to Karachi admin., and the Govt. of Sind to make Peoples Bicycle Track and give cheap rental on bike by Uber. They should be closely monitored for advertised claimed deal and actual.
The Daewoo Peoples 10 Buses are not even known to Daewoom should Uber takes this charge.
