Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIA) Peshawar has been upgraded and renovated with state-of-the-art facilities. The airport, built in 1927, was pretty outdated in terms of its capacity of handling 1.5 million passengers yearly. The upgrades were the need of the hour as it caused a lot of trouble to the passengers.
With everything finished now, the airport will be able to handle 3.5 million passengers per year. The overall project, that included a new terminal, boarding lodges, new immigration counters, passenger seats, and more along with the increased capacity, took two years in total.
