Lenovo Launches Watch X to Rival Xiaomi Mi Band

Lenovo, alongside its “much-awaited” Lenovo Z5, unveiled Watch X. It’s not really a smartwatch strictly speaking, but has various fitness tracking sensors and other features.

It does have a classy design, this mechanical watch has an OLED display and comes in two variants – Watch X and Watch X Explorer Edition. The watches come with several features such as a barometer, a heart rate sensor, a geomagnetic sensor, a gravity sensor, and even a blood pressure sensor – the barometer and the blood pressure sensor are only available in Explorer Edition, though.

The metallic design is great, its ideal for those who are into retro watches. The lineup has a Milanese strap by default, but you can get a leather strap as well by paying extra.

Specifications & Pricing

As official details are scarce for now, we can’t say much about internal specifications. Lenovo did reveal some features at their press event, in which it also unveiled its K5 Note and A5 smartphones, such as its 600 mAh battery that allows up to 45 days standby.

It also has newer Bluetooth 5.0, but there’s no word on whether it has Wi-Fi connectivity. The Watch X siblings have not hit the shelves as of yet, but Lenovo has started pre-booking in China. You can book a Watch X yourself on Lenovo’s website.

The Milanese version of Watch X’s base variant starts at CNY 299 (~Rs. 5,500), while the leather strap version goes for CNY 329 (~Rs. 6,000). Watch X Explorer Edition’s Milanese version costs CNY 329 (~Rs. 6,000), the leather strap one costs CNY 429 (~Rs. 7,800).
