Toyota Corolla Ranked as the Best Car in Pakistan for Resale Value

Toyota Corolla has the best resale value in Pakistan, according to a comprehensive survey carried out by a local blog. The data takes into account car owners, their preferences, and their opinions to arrive at its conclusion.

According to the Auto Industry Survey in 2017 by Pakwheelspeople throughout Pakistan have rated Toyota vehicles much higher than those by other brands in terms of various characteristics including value for money, efficiency, resale value, etc.

Apparently, most people vouched for the Toyota Corolla, as it is known to have great resale value in the Pakistani market. In case you are wondering about another wildly-popular car Mehran, Suzuki’s vehicle has a lower ranking in comparison to the Corolla, as seen in the survey. In fact, the Mehran enjoys a smaller market chunk than the Corolla overall.

Additionally, the survey also lists both imported and locally assembled vehicles as well. Toyota Land Cruiser is the top imported vehicle in terms of its resale value, while Corolla, from the same manufacturer, leads the local market.

Not Surprising

This “news” does not come as a surprise, as the country’s auto sector has been dominated by three manufacturers for quite some time. It stands to reason that premium manufacturers, such as Toyota under the Indus Motors Company, takes the largest piece of the cake as they face almost zero competition in their market segments.

There are only three big local sector companies, Pak Suzuki, Toyota Indus, and Honda Pakistan, that produce sedans similar to Corolla. Suzuki’s Ciaz failed to be as popular as its rivals, probably due to its high-price factor and minimal features. Even so, its a new addition and might take time to go mainstream.

Second to Corolla, Honda’s City and Civic models are highly popular, but most people prefer a Corolla GLI or an XLI over a City mainly due to the spaciousness offered by them as well as cheaper parts. However, Civic leads in the premium market segment, with its sales enjoying a high after the latest generation design was unveiled. It is also due to the fact that it has more international-grade features as compared to the Corolla lineup.

Things might be changing in the future, as a number of new international and local auto brands make their entry in the country’s auto sector. We’ve already seen KIA launch its Grand Carnival SUV. The entry of more car models and brands will surely increase competition and affect the existing brands as well.
