Here’s a quick summary of all you need to know about the program. We also offer tips that’ll help you with your application.
What is the Telenor Youth Forum?
- A unique platform for youth across 8 of Telenor’s markets that enables them to implement ideas aimed at ‘Reducing Inequalities’- UN Sustainable Development Goal no. 10 – and work on developing their idea through expert mentoring.
- Delegates from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Denmark, Malaysia, Myanmar, Norway, Sweden and Thailand embark on a 9-month TYF journey where they get to learn amongst people from diverse backgrounds.
- TYF is a proud partner of the Nobel Peace Center, coinciding with the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize event every year.
- The journey for TYF delegates starts in Oslo in December, which continues through the year with a second gathering in Bangkok in May where the delegates come together to continue creating momentum around their social challenge and pitch their ideas for investment to make their ideas come to life.

How to Apply
- The application process for TYF is quite simple. If you’re passionate about making the world a better place and have a solid inclination and experiences to reduce inequalities (UN SDG 10), then this is the place for you.
- Pen down what global challenge you feel strongest about and how you would tackle them through digital solutions.
- Historically, TYF delegates have designed solutions for challenges such as public health, education, gender equality, climate change, unemployment, digital safety, fair working conditions, and big data for social good, among other fields.
- If selected, you will receive guidance and mentorship from Telenor Group subject matter experts who will equip you with real-world skills such as service design, prototyping, presenting, exhibiting and pitching, in addition to insights on issues that can only be gained through hands-on experience.

Tips For Applying
Your application needs to be impressive with pure substance and drive to instill change in your society. Below are some application guidelines you can follow for a great application:
- Be clear and concise about the point you are trying to make in terms of your ideas, experience and vision
- Try to personalize your essay and relate it to real-world examples
- Your writing should depict that you are passionate about the cause, the problem, and the solution
- Be honest in your writing, keep it simple and don’t over exaggerate stuff as it can have a negative impact
- We encourage genuine ideas and thoughts and those copied from the internet should be avoided
- Pay special attention to your cover letter. When you feel it’s ready, show it to your peers for feedback and then after final revisions submit it
Application Criteria
The applicant must be:
- Born between 1st December 1990 and 31st December 1998
- Fluent in English
- A permanent resident in Pakistan
- Passionate about driving social, economic and/or environmental change in your community
- Attending university or have completed higher education
- Having strong opinions on the selected forum topic of ‘Digitalization for Peace’ and interested in sharing opinions and ideas on a global stage
