Xiaomi is Launching the Mi 8, Redmi 6 Series and Mi Band 3 in Pakistan

In a bid to capture more market share and to set a strong foothold in the Pakistani market, Xiaomi is launching 4 new products in Pakistan today at an event in Lahore. The products consist of 3 new smartphones and a new fitness tracker.

Xiaomi Mi 8

The flagship Mi 8 comes with top-notch hardware and 3D facial recognition that will even work in the dark as seen on the OPPO Find X.

The design of the Mi 8 features an uncanny resemblance to the iPhone X, from the wide notch up front to the dual vertical placed cameras on the back. There’s glass on the front and back, giving the Mi 8 a premium feel. The chassis of the of the phone is made of aviation-grade aluminum, giving the strength it needs to not get bent under normal usage.

There are two rear-facing cameras on the Mi 8, both are 12MP sensors. One of them has a Sony IMX 363 sensor while the other is a Samsung-made lens. 4-axis OIS and dual pixel autofocus are on-board as well. The front camera of the Mi 8 is a 20MP unit which also features a wide array of beauty and AI modes.

In terms of design and size, both the Redmi 6 and 6A are a lot similar. You get a pretty generic and simple looking plastic design on both the phones, which looks a lot like metal.

Both have the same 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 720×1440. It’s an 18:9 display so it’s actually taller but there’s some bezel around the display which does not look too good. The Redmi 6 also has a fingerprint scanner and a dual camera setup, both of which the 6A lacks.
