4G Users Steadily Increase Amid Decreasing 3G Subscribers on Various Networks

The number of 3G and 4G users in Pakistan reached 57.32 million by the end of July 2018, said Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

The number of mobile phone users in Pakistan, on the other hand, reached 150.55 million by the same time period compared to 150.24 million during June 2018, registering an increase of 0.31 million during the period under review.

Jazz’s total count for 3G users stood at 15.038 million by July 2018 compared to 14.83 million in June, with an increase of 0.208 million. Jazz 4G users jumped from 4,376,394 from June 2018 to 4,601,586 in July same year.

Zong’s 3G subscribers decreased from 9.267 million during June to 9.228 million by July, while the number of 4G users jumped from 7,353,105 from June to 7,761,412 by the end of July.

Telenor also saw a similar change in 3G/4G subscribers, with the number of 3G users on the network decreasing from 10.511 million during June 2018 to 10.314 million in July 2018. The number of 4G users increased from 3,115,119 by end June to 3,315,326 by end July 2018.

Ufone added 0.43 million 3G users on its network during the month of July as the total reached to 7.060 million by end July 2018 compared to 6.630 million by end June.

Teledensity for cellular mobile networks increased to 72.83 percent compared to 72.81 and broadband subscribers reached 59,549,253 by end July compared to 58,339,814 by end June 2018.
