Lenovo’s New Android Tablet Line-up Starts at $70

Lenovo is making a revival of sorts in the stagnant Android tablet market with offerings dedicated to the lower end of the market.

While they likely won’t cause much of a ripple in the market, they promise to be a safe and docile option for children or for use as a reading device.

The most high-end of the offerings include the Tab P10 and M10 tablets, both of which come with 10-inch 1080p IPS LCD panels on the front, in a 16:10 aspect ratio. Under the hood, both of them have an octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset, for improved battery life.

P10 is the more premium of the two, it has a four Dolby Atmos speakers, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB storage. The design also looks more premium and comes with a fingerprint scanner. The back and front cameras boast 8 MP and 5 MP sensors respectively, while it has a larger battery than the M10 (7000 mAh vs 4850 mAh).

The latter (M10) comes with two speakers instead, 5 MP + 2 MP cameras, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, which is expandable like the P10. Pricing for either one of them hasn’t been announced.

Tab E10 and Tab E8

The Tab E10 comes with a 10-inch panel, too, but with lower 1280 x 800 resolution. There’s a low-end Snapdragon 210 processor on board, 2 GB RAM, and 16 GB storage, as well as dual-speakers. The battery is the same as M10 with a 4,850 mAh unit.

Pricing starts at $130.

The Tab E8 comes with a similar resolution but in an 8-inch panel. It has a quad-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT8163B processor, with 1 GB RAM, and 16 GB storage. This one also sports a similar 4,850 mAh battery.

Pricing starts at $100.

Tab E7

Finally, you have the Tab E7 at the bottom of the barrel, which comes with Android Oreo Go Edition. It has a 7-inch 1024 x 600 display, a quad-core MediaTek MT8167 processor (MT8321 on the 3G variant), 1 GB RAM, and 16 GB of storage.

On the battery front, it has a 2,750 mAh unit, which should suffice with low resources on the E7.

Pricing for this tablet is set at $70. All the tablets will be available this fall, with the three lower-end models launching in October.
