Celebrating 6th September: Defense Day in Pictures

Pakistan celebrated the 53rd Defense and Martyrs Day with great passion and fervour – holding special prayers and recitations for the country’s martyrs. Training exercises, aerobatics and stunts showed that Pakistan army is always ready to defend our homeland.

The 6th of September marks the 1965 Pakistan-India war, when Indian forces breached the national border, to launch a surprise attack under the cover of darkness. However, Pak Army laid waste to the enemy’s nefarious plans, and successfully defended the border lines.

The 53rd Defense Day paid tribute to the martyrs with a thirty-one gun salute in the capital and twenty-one gun salutes in the four provincial capitals.
