Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has removed the Chief Selector and part of the Lahore Qalandars Talent Hunt Program from Pakistan Super League (PSL) player draft committee which categorizes players before the draft. The decision was taken due to the reservations by several franchises as Inzamam is now associated with Lahore Qalandars as well.
From this year onwards, the franchises will take part in the process to avoid any conflict of interest or nepotism.
Imran Ahmed Khan, the head of player acquisition for PSL, and the selectors including Wajahatullah Wasti and Wasim Haider will be reviewing the player categories ahead of the all-important draft.
With draft expected to take place in November, like previous years, those who have been burdened with the responsibility have a sturdy task at hand as the categories of domestic as well as international players are yet to be finalized.
There are still reservations about Imran Ahmed Khan who is believed to have a soft corner for certain franchises. It remains to be seen how PCB acknowledges these reservations as well.
