These are the Top Ten Donors For Dam Funds so Far

Pakistan Army, as an organization, remains the highest contributor of donations made for the Daimer Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund so far. They’ve contributed Rs. 582 million, according to data updated by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Strategic Planning Directorate was the second highest contribution with the donation of Rs. 201 million to dams’ fund by end of September 13, 2018.

HBL under its HBL Islamic Charity donated an amount of Rs. 100 million. It was followed by Bahria Town and Qarshi Industries which submitted an amount of Rs. 67 million and Rs. 50 million respectively.

The top five contributors donated over Rs. 1 billion for the dams’ fund, which is nearly one-third of the total donation received through banking channels by end of September 13. The top ten donor organizations contributed an amount of Rs.1.156 billion in the period under review.

Donation By Individuals

Pervaiz Bhatti is one of the most generous contributors to the dam fund so far with Rs. 50 million donated. Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, President of the Centaurus Group, donated an amount of Rs. 20 million. He was followed by Abdul Hanan Khan, Zeeshan Ahmed and Saqib Razzaq with an amount of Rs. 19 million, Rs. 15 million and Rs. 10 million respectively.

These individuals contributed an overall amount of Rs. 114.88 million. The overall donation made by top ten contributors stand at Rs. 143.65 million by the end of September 13, according to the statistical report updated by SBP under the title of Top 10 Donors To PM & CJP Fund for Water Reservoir.

It is pertinent to mention here that the central bank has renamed the dam fund’s account with Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan Fund For Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam a week ago.

Overall Donations For Dams’ Fund

The inflows of donations have been increased consistently from across the country and overseas for the purpose of construction of Daimer Bhasha and Mohmand Dams.

According to SBP data, the donations received by the central bank collected in 40 days recorded at Rs. 1.99 billion whereas the values of donations increased to Rs. 3.27 billion in the past five days till September 13, showing a staggering increase of donations’ values by Rs. 1.28 billion or 64 percent.

The donations received by resident Pakistanis stand at 95.5 percent with Rs. 3.092 billion. On the other hand, donations sent by overseas Pakistanis reached Rs. 181 million, a figure that constitutes a 5.5% share in the funds overall.

Expatriate Pakistanis sent their donations from various countries including Fiji, Maldives, Nigeria and Brazil.

  • Highest by Paki Military makes sense. They earn highest through fair and unfair means and cheap publicity is also an advantage from such “steps”.
    Same goes for business tycoons to gain publicity and do some money laundering.
    Rest of the public is “Damn” fool ; )

    • Why do pak army need publicity? Is it a corp? Are they selling something? All they are recvng is bullets everyday.
