Apple recently launched this year’s iPhones in three different trims, namely iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max.
And much like every year, the new iPhones come at eye-watering prices, but with almost the same designs and unnoticeable hardware changes as compared to the previous iPhone X. In China, the iPhone trio costs CNY 6,499 (~Rs. 118,000), CNY 8,699 (~Rs. 157,000), and CNY 9,599 (~Rs. 173,000).
It didn’t take Xiaomi – one of the top Chinese smartphone brands – much time to figure out a cool marketing strategy, as well as an opportunity to mock Apple for setting ridiculously high prices. They aren’t called the Apple of China for anything.

The Chinese giant has introduced three new bundles, conveniently named XR, XS, and XS Max, that allow you to buy multiple Xiaomi products for the same price as a new iPhone. Xiaomi is the second Chinese company to take a shot at Apple’s latest launch. Huawei already trolled Apple over Twitter, by thanking the American tech giant for “keeping things the same”.
