Xiaomi Reveals When the Black Shark 2 Will Be Launched

Black Shark is Xiaomi’s line of gaming smartphones, similar to the Razer phone, and it’s getting a new successor called Black Shark 2.

The phone has already been in the leaks and rumors over the weeks, but now it has an official launch date of October 23 – 5 days from now.

This was confirmed via a social media post on Weibo by Xiaomi. Check it out below:

Unfortunately, the teaser does not reveal anything else other than the launch date of Black Shark 2. According to some rumors, the phone will feature an RGB logo on the back, and side strips too. The addition of RGB lighting was actually pretty obvious, seeing that Razer also put an RGB logo on its Razer Phone 2.

And besides, there’s no high-end gaming item or peripheral out there that doesn’t have RGB lighting, so nothing surprising about it. Moreover, the phone is likely to feature a high-end Snapdragon 845, at least 8 GB RAM, and an internal cooling system.

As for Black Shark 2’s design, a leaked render has already surfaced online thanks to TENAA listings. Here’s what it will look like:

A cooling module is a nice addition as it prevents thermal throttling, so the processor can run at full speed without affecting gaming performance. The previous Black Shark also had one, and so does the Razer Phone 2. It seems like the vented texture on the back is done to keep the hands cool, and sweat free during gaming session,

Other details (again, according to TENNA) include a 5.99-inch display, 4000 mAh battery, and dual cameras.
