Austerity Drive

The PM had ordered an auction of extra vehicles under the use of the PM house as soon as he assumed the office. Since then, the government has organized two rounds of the auction and sold more than 60 vehicles.

The PM asserted that the money received from this auction and other austerity drives will go to the national exchequer and benefit the public in general.

Previously, the government displayed 49 high-end luxury vehicles for auction including bullet and bombproof cars. However, it only managed the sale of one such expensive vehicle and acquired Rs. 9 million in the process.

Moreover, the Sindh government has also announced to auction its 10-year-old vehicles. Raja Basharat, the Punjab Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, has also claimed that the provincial government will also auction cars from different departments as per the rules and regulation.
