Pakistani Passport is No Longer Among the Worst in the World

Pakistani passport has made significant gains as it now ranks 92nd in the Global Passport Index 2018.

The Green passport holders can travel to as many as 36 countries without acquiring a visa in advance, according to the data collected by Passport Index.

The index shows that Pakistani passport holders get a visa-free entry in eight countries – last year it was 6 – while 28 states will welcome them with visa on arrival.

People holding the Pakistani passport are allowed Visa-free entry in these countries:

  • Dominica
  • Haiti
  • Micronesia
  • St. Vincent and the Grenadines
  • Trinidad and Tobago
  • Vanuatu
  • Qatar
  • Ivory Coast (pre-enrollment)

Still Among the Weakest Passports

In 2017, the Passport Index ranked Pakistan world’s second-worst travel document after just above Afghanistan. The situation for Green Passport holders has not become too ideal as we still lack one point behind war-torn Syria, but two slots above Iraq and Afghanistan.

Top Ranked Passports

Singapore and Germany are the strongest passports at the time with 127 and 126 countries giving their citizens visa-free entry, respectively.

Here are the top-ranked passports in the world, ordered according to ranking:

  1. Singapore and German
  2. Sweden, Denmark, Finland, France, USA, Spain, Switzerland, Norway, South Korea, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands.
  3. Belgium, Austria, Japan, Greece, Porugal, Switzerland, UK, Ireland, Canada, and UAE.
