Microsoft is making its MS Office suite more accessible and easy to use for Windows users by launching a standalone Office app.
The new app will replace the current My Office tool and will put all your Office suite applications in one place, allowing you to switch back and forth depending on your need.
Your documents and projects will all be searchable and accessible from the new app. Microsoft says that it will work much like Office.com, a similar collective tool but only for people who prefer working on a web browser.
Do note that the app will have the same payment offers, and will work directly with your Office 365 subscription if you already have one. Your content and purchased software are directly compatible with it, so you can just download the app and continue your work.
Other than Office 365, the app is also compatible with Office Online, Office 2016, and Office 2019 subscriptions.
The app isn’t officially available yet, but it’ll soon roll out to most users. Or better yet, you can join the Microsoft Insider program to get it earlier.
The app will come pre-installed in future Windows devices and will be available to download from Microsoft Store soon. If you don’t automatically get the update, you can always download it manually from the store.
Microsoft has been bringing updates to its Office suite regularly, the company also announced some changes to the Outlook app for its iOS users.
