UAE-based carrier, Emirates, has announced a drastic flight cut across the world, including Pakistan, from the second quarter of 2019.
The massive adjustment in its operational schedule is an attempt to minimize the impact of rapidly changing global travel demand trends.
According to reports, the closure of Dubai International Airport’s Southern Runway in April and May this year also has a lot to do with the closure of several flight routes.

It is believed that the economic conditions, changing dynamics and pilot shortages are the few factors forcing Emirates and other Gulf airlines to adjust operations.
Emirates is currently operating in five Pakistani cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Sialkot with its Boeing 777 fleet.

Whereas Industry Insiders suggest that the UAE-bases carrier might completely suspend its operations for Multan, Sialkot and Peshawar. Flydubai is expected to manage its load and serve as a feeder airline.
