Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) is taking action against illegally aired satellite TV channels in the country.
Chairman PEMRA Mohammad Saleem Baig has issued a notification in this regard.
“It has been reported that following unlicensed/illegal satellite television channels are being aired by various distribution networks across the country,” the notification states.
It mentions names of several Indian TV channels including Sony TV, Zee TV, Zindagi TV, Peace TV, UTV1, UTV Action, Star H & Star Plus, etc.
The list also includes several religious (both Islamic & Christian) TV channels including Haq TV, Al-Sunnah TV, Hidayat, Jesus TV, Healing TV, Issac TV, etc.
Taking strict action against such channels, chairman PEMRA has directed all the Regional General Managers (RGMs) to stop the transmission of these channels, immediately.
“All RGMs are accordingly directed to take necessary measure to stop transmission of/relaying of above mentioned and all the other illegal STV channels from distribution networks in respective regions, immediately,” the notification added.
Our Cable Wale doesn’t shown this channels with real name :
PEMRA will do anything other than digitizing cable and launching DTH
PEMRA is a waste
I am getting some these channels on our local cable. The cable operator has to offer 70+ channels to stay in the competition, if they start to remove channels,,, how will they make the count of 70+ ? Already we are getting rubbish entertainment on the cable about 20+ are just news channels.
This is really sad. Al-Quran. and Al-Sunna. are non-commerical Saudi govt channels that mirror Haram and Masjid Nabvi 24/7 without ads. These two channels shouldn’t be blacklisted.
