KP Launches Crackdown Against Fake & Green Number Plates

Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department (ET&NCD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched a province-wide crackdown against the fake and green number plates.

Secretary ET&NCD Riaz Mehsud announced it on Sunday while talking to media.

He said that action would also be taken against unregistered or non-custom paid vehicles as such vehicles have given a bad reputation to the province.

Unregistered and fake number plates have earned bad name for the province. Now, the vehicles with KP number are considered suspicious in other parts of the country, and we have to change that.

Riaz said that he is going to introduce new reforms in the department which will bring a positive change, adding that the re-shuffling of high-ranking officers will be the first phase.

He said the all the officers have been given a revenue target, and to increase their efficiency, the promotions have been linked with their performances.

Riaz also vowed to make the Excise department a role model among other departments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said the change would be evident very soon.

He added that the process to computerize the property tax and vehicle registration system has been initiated.

Secretary Excise said he presented these reforms in a high-level department meeting a day earlier. The meeting also discussed the overall performance of the department and the initiatives taken by them. The meeting also agreed on the digitalization of some sections of the department and devised a future roadmap.

Meanwhile, Director General Excise, Atif Khan informed that the department was soon going to start recruitment of youth to overcome human resource deficiency.
