PM Office Has Saved Rs. 303 Million Through Its Austerity Drive So Far

The cabinet has been informed that the Prime Minister’s office has saved Rs. 303 million during the current fiscal year by cutting down its expenditures.

An official statement released after the cabinet meeting, headed by the Prime Minister Imran Khan, said that the money was saved under various heads including pay and allowances, food expenses, motor vehicle fuel, and cash rewards.

As per the statement, PM Khan once again called for a maximum possible reduction in government offices’ expenses and urged all the ministers to ensure that the austerity drive is implemented in letter and spirit.

The meeting decided to form a high-level committee that has to suggest a panel of suitable officers for a slot of the ministry’s secretary.

PM’s adviser on Establishment will chair the committee that will include Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood, the concerned minister-in-charge, secretary establishment, and secretary to PM.

It is worth mentioning here that PM Khan has himself saved millions of rupees by simply not living in the Prime Minister House.

While addressing an FBR ceremony the previous day, Prime Minister said that he cut the household expenses by 20 percent and saved Rs. 150 million to the national exchequer by living at his residence at Bani Gala instead of Prime Minister House.
