The Afghan FC Chaman and Jallawan FC Khuzdar will face each other in the final of the Ufone Balochistan Cup as the 3rd edition of the prestigious championship comes to a close.
The final will be shown live on PTV Sports and broadcasted at Suno FM 89.4. The packed stadium during half time will be serenaded by Izhaar Ali who has also sung the official anthem of the championship and the game is scheduled to begin at 07:30 p.m.
In the semi-finals, Afghan FC Chaman defeated Afghan FC Pishin 1-0 in a one-sided affair. Chaman’s team deserved to win after dominating throughout the game. Jadid Khan drew first blood by scoring the first goal in the 45th minute of the match putting his team in the lead and it turned out to be the decisive moment as the Pishin team struggled to find an equalizer and were knocked out of the tournament.
In the second semifinal, Jallawan FC Khuzdar knocked out Faizullah Agha FC Quetta in a gut-wrenching penalty shootout. Khuzdar’s team had the upper hand in the first half as Riaz Khan opened the scoring in the 11th minute and put his team in front but Quetta’s team drew level with an equalizer when Fateh struck in the 86th minute through a corner. At the final whistle, the score was tied with both teams scoring one goal each. In the penalty shootout, Khuzdar spoiled Quetta’s party by prevailing from the spot and securing a place in the final.
Now, both semifinal winners will take on each other later tonight.
