Govt Doubles Quota for Students from Tribal Areas

The quota for students hailing from the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) has been doubled in numerous educational institutions in other provinces of Pakistan.

This step has been taken on the recommendation of the FATA Reforms Committee and approval of the Federal Cabinet.

The total quota has doubled from 222 to 444 for a period of 10 years. The quota for Baha-ud-Din Zakariya University, Multan has increased from 188 to 376.

The quota for tribal areas students has been increased from 7 to 14 in Pakistan Institute of Fashion $ Design, Lahore. In National Textile University, Faisalabad and the Pir Mehar Ali Shah University of Arid Agriculture, the quota for FATA students has increased from 9 to 10 and 10 to 20 respectively.

Whereas, the quota for the University of Engineering and Technology Taxila and University of Sindh, Jamshoro has reached 12 and 4 respectively.
