Earlier this month, we heard rumors about Vivo launching one of its Y-series phones in India. It was expected to be Y5, however, based on the leaks, it has been alleged that the smartphone will be Y17. We don’t really know what features this smartphone will have yet, but the leaks give us an idea of what to expect.
Based on earlier reports, the phone will feature a 6.35-inch display and will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 processor with 4 GB RAM. The design is similar to other Vivo Y-series smartphone with the same dewdrop notch and multi-sensor camera system.
From the promotional posters, it is clear Vivo Y17 is home to a triple sensor camera. The main sensor featured on the rear camera is unknown but we do know the secondary sensor will be an ultrawide lens and the tertiary sensor will be a depth sensor. On the front, Vivo Y17 features a 20 MP selfie camera.
The smartphone appears to have small side bezels with a “chin” at the bottom and an on-screen fingerprint sensor. It will most probably run on Android 9.0 Pie and will be one of the more affordable smartphones on the market.
The phone will be packed with a huge 5000 mAh battery, one of its key selling points. This is the start of the show however, we don’t know whether it has fast charging or not. Other than that, we expect this phone to cost around Rs. 30,000 in India.
We’ll update you as soon as the phone is released
