Pakistan Navy Test Fires Locally Developed Anti-Ship Missile

Pakistan Navy has successfully test-fired a locally developed missile which can hit targets on both land and sea.

The missile was launched from the Fast-Attack Missile Craft in North Arabian Sea which successfully hit its target, a statement from the Navy said on Tuesday.

“The indigenously developed Cruise Missile has anti-ship missile and Land Attack capability,” it said.

The successful live weapon firing has once again demonstrated the credible fire-power of Pakistan Navy and the impeccable level of indigenization in high tech weaponry achieved by Pakistan’s defense industry. This is a clear manifestation of the Government’s resolve to achieve self-reliance in this field.

Pakistan Navy termed this successful test a ‘landmark development’ which will reinforce the country’s policy of credible minimum deterrence through indigenization and self-reliance.

Vice Chief of Naval Staff Vice-Admiral Kaleem Shaukat was present at the time of test-launch.

The Naval chief not only praised operational readiness of Pakistan Navy’s fleet but also lauded the efforts of naval engineers and researchers for their role in this achievement.
