We have been hearing quite a lot about Redmi’s upcoming flagship lately. Several different rumors and leaks showed us that the phone will be called “Redmi X” and will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset. But later on, Redmi’s GM confirmed that the phone will not be called Redmi X and will be named “something better”. Even though it might not sound like a “better” name to you, another leak suggests the device will be called Redmi K20 Pro.
This confirmation comes to us through yet another leaked image, showing us the protective film you get with the phone fresh out of the box.
Leaked Specifications
This confirms quite a few things. We know for a fact that the device is going to be powered by SD855. Other specifications shown in the image are undoubtedly flagship level.
The screen at the front is 6.39 inches with an AMOLED display but there’s nothing on the resolution yet. The primary camera at the back is going to be a triple lens 48MP shooter and under the hood, we’re going to get a 4000mAh battery with 27W fast charging. We already knew that there was going to be a pop-up front camera, but what we didn’t know before was that it is going to be a 20MP AI camera.
Redmi claims that the K20 Pro is going to take on other smartphone makers with quite a competitive price tag coupled with all the high-end specifications of 2019.
According to Tang Mu, General Manager of Xiaomi Smart Hardware Division, the company is holding a launch event on 13th May in China and could launch the phone.
