The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested seven individuals including three Chinese nationals from Rawalpindi over alleged involvement in human trafficking.
FIA’s human trafficking and smuggling wing conducted a raid and caught the Chinese ringleader along with their Pakistani facilitators.
Many incidents of the sort have been making the headlines for the past few days.
Recently, FIA undertook an intelligence-based operation at a wedding ceremony in Faisalabad, arresting the Chinese groom. The agency had reports that a Chinese gang is involved in human trafficking and illegal organ harvesting with the help of Pakistani facilitators.
The agency has found out that the suspects con Pakistani families through sham marriages with girls by the help of local agents. According to insider accounts, Christian women are subjected to sexual exploitation soon after they are trafficked to China.
In a crackdown across Punjab, the FIA has arrested at least 13 Chinese nationals so far. Interior Minister Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Ahmad Shah has taken notice of the issue and directed the concerned departments to take the necessary action immediately.
