SECP Introduces Educational Videos for Investor Awareness

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has launched a video series for the first time to guide investors.

A statement by the SECP says that the launch aims at adapting to the digitization wave and employing mass media and social media effectively to increase investor awareness.

This video series provides guidance on seven themes including capital market, commodities market, insurance, Islamic finance, mutual funds, company incorporation, and anti-money laundering/CFT.

The videos are available on the commission’s JamaPunji web portal, Twitter, and Facebook platforms. This initiative is intended to educate the public about legitimate investment opportunities, financial scams, and ease of doing business.

Based on the expertise of SECP officers, these videos cover layout procedures, frequently asked questions (FAQs), and dos and don’ts to guide them in personal financial planning.

The videos also provide guidance for complaint resolution. People can easily access these videos on their smartphones and share them with their friends and family.

The material will also be provided to the universities for classroom discussions. The commission anticipates this initiative to gain more traction since it provides potential investors across the country access to vital knowledge about investment.
