This is What Xiaomi’s Upcoming CC Phones Are Going to Look like

We’ve been seeing a lot of chatter and leaks about Xiaomi’s new CC brand lately.

Xiaomi’s CC phones, rumored to have impressive photography skills, seem to be designed by the “Chic and Cool” 90’s team at the company.

It is the third smartphone brand from Xiaomi after Mi and Redmi (which operates as a separate company now) and is designed by a group of art students. If rumors are believed, the lineup will include phones with bright colors and soft looking features targeting female buyers.

This lineup is a result of Xiaomi’s collaboration with Meitu, the most popular smartphone image editing app in China, hence, the phones will use imaging algorithms from “Xiaomi X Meitu AI Aesthetics Lab.”

Launch

Last week, Xiaomi confirmed the existence of the CC series but didn’t say anything about the launch. From a series of leaks and rumors, we know the first phones to be released under the ‘CC’ moniker will be CC9 and CC9e, the 9 denotes Xiaomi’s age as a company.

Now, the company has confirmed a 2^nd July launch date for this selfie-focused lineup, with new leaks surfacing about the two phones detailing the specifications and other features.

Let’s start with the CC9e.

Xiaomi CC9e

CC9e is the less expensive of the two. It comes with a generic design and features.

Design and Display

CC9e comes with a glass back that is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. There’s also a triple sensor rear camera vertically aligned at the top left.

Display wise, the phone is expected to feature a 5.97-inch AMOLED display will Full HD+ resolution. The waterdrop notch will house the selfie camera.

Internal and Storage

Leaks suggest the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC paired with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM accompanied by 64 GB or 128 GB of built-in memory.

The phone is rumored to feature an in-screen fingerprint sensor, high-resolution audio, and an IR blaster.

Cameras

CC9e is expected to feature a triple sensor rear camera with a 48 MP Sony IMX582 main sensor followed by 8 MP and 5 MP cameras. At the front, it will most probably have a 32 MP single sensor snapper.

Battery and Pricing

The phone may house a 3500 mAh battery backed by 18W fast charging.

If the leak is true, we will see three variants of CC9e.

Xiaomi CC9

This smartphone is going to be the flagship in the series, with a flip camera similar to ASUS ZenFone 6.

Design and Display

Design-wise, the phone may not be very different from CC9e expect the fact that it will feature a flip camera.

At the back, it will most probably have a glass finish with no gradient design.

Coming to the display, it will sport a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution. The front and back, like CC9e, will have Gorilla Glass 5 protection and it will also have an in-display fingerprint reader.

Internal and Storage

Based on the leaks, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 730 chipset in combination with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM and 256 GB built-in storage.

The phone may run on MIUI 10 flavored Android 9.0 Pie.

Cameras

The key selling feature of this smartphone will be its selfie-focused cameras. It will feature a flip camera that will be double up as both the rear and selfie camera.

As the primary lens, the triple sensor flip camera will feature a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor in combination with 16 MP and 12 MP cameras.

Battery and Pricing

The whole package is expected to arrive with a 4000 mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging.
