According to media reports on Monday, directions have been issued by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) offices ordering them to remain open past closing time on June 29 and 30.
Formal orders have been released the board directing its custom field offices to remain operational on June 29th till 10pm.
The tax collection officials have been asked to remain on their duties so that those intending to file tax and declare assets can be benefitted. The directives further stated that offices will remain open till midnight on June 30th.
On 20th June, Shabbar Zaidi, Federal Board of Revenue, Chairman dashed any hopes of extending the deadline for the assets declaration scheme. In a statement, he said, “The deadline of assets declaration scheme will end on June 30”.
Earlier, the Chairman formed a committee on 18th June to help find and withdraw the technical and legal irregularities in the Finance Bill 2019.
