Pakistan’s hopes for a yet another semifinal might just be over with England’s win over New Zealand today. Had the English surrendered today, then Pakistan only had to beat Bangladesh to move further in the competition.
However, things are much more complicated now.
Given if Pakistan beat Bangladesh, they will be on level points with New Zealand. Out of the two – whoever has the better Net Run-Rate (NRR) will become the 4th semifinalist.
Pakistan Has to Bat First
Pakistan will have to bat first in order to have any chance of qualification. If Bangladesh wins the toss and opts to bat first, then Pakistan will be knocked out straight away.
However, if Pakistan bat first then here is what needs to happen:
- Score 350 runs, beat Bangladesh by 311 runs
- Score 400 runs, beat Bangladesh by 316 runs
The exact margins will change depending on the scores.

Imran Khan fails as a PM which is a fact and not an opinion. Imran said he will select the team on merit which he didn’t. Imran had 9 months, he failed to change chief selector in this 9 months period. Best way is to kick out Imran Khan, he doesn’t deserve to be PM of Pakistan.
Yes you are right. Nine months is enought time. In this timeframe Imran could easily change chief selector Inzi and could have easily replace him with Abdul RASHID Latif. But Imran doesn’t do that which clearly shows that he doesn’t have the will bcoz he is a loser and nothing more. So you are right Imran is a failure.
