NEPRA Increases Power Tariff by 10 Paisa Per Unit

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has notified a price hike of 10 paisas per unit in power tariff for domestic consumers. The increase is due to the fuel cost adjustment for May 2019.

The approval for the increment came in the last week of June; however, the notification was issued today.

The hike in power tariff will put an extra burden of around Rs. 1.2 billion on consumers. However, it will not be applicable to K-Electric consumers and agricultural consumers.

In May, the regulatory authority had approved a hike of 53 paise per unit in the fuel adjustment for April.
