Khawaja Asif Calls for Complete Ban on Vigo Dala Culture in Parliament

Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has called for ending the ‘Vigo Dala Culture’ in the National Assembly.

Speaking during the assembly session, he said that parliamentary traditions and decorum must be strictly observed and that any breach of rules in the Parliament House is unacceptable. He stressed that lawmakers should be properly briefed on parliamentary conduct and regulations to ensure order inside the house.

Khawaja Asif also raised concerns over increasing security risks within the Parliament complex. He said that unnecessary movement of visitors, including filming and photography in restricted areas, was becoming a growing issue and needed tighter monitoring.

Referring to the informal use of security vehicles, he said the practice associated with “Vigo Dala” culture was inappropriate and should be discouraged, suggesting that strict measures be considered to regulate or restrict such practices.

He further emphasized that conversations, gestures, and informal interactions in galleries should be discouraged to maintain the dignity of Parliament.

The minister said that the authority and decisions of the Speaker must be fully respected, and clear instructions regarding parliamentary discipline should be visibly displayed for members.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also directed members to refrain from bringing guests without proper passes and read out the relevant rules of parliamentary conduct during the session.
