Govt University in Punjab Reportedly Sealed Over Alleged Rs. 83.9 Million Unpaid Property Tax

The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has reportedly sealed NFC University located on Jaranwala Road in Faisalabad after the institution allegedly failed to pay outstanding property tax amounting to Rs 83.9 million, according to Faisalabad TV.

Officials said the enforcement action was taken due to prolonged non-payment of the heavy tax dues despite repeated obligations.

A team from the Excise and Taxation Department reached the university premises on Jaranwala Road and carried out the sealing process on site.

The department stated that legal formalities were completed before the institution was formally closed and its operations halted.

According to officials cited in the post, the decision to seal the campus was prompted by long-outstanding property tax arrears that had remained unpaid for an extended period.

Authorities described the amount—Rs 83.9 million—as a “heavy” dues burden that warranted enforcement under tax recovery laws.

The development has been highlighted on local media platforms as a tax recovery and enforcement action in Faisalabad.

The incident has also been framed within broader themes of property tax compliance and the role of the Excise and Taxation Department in Punjab.
