New Zealand Watched Pak vs Ind Champions Trophy Final to Prepare for Semi-Final

New Zealand have qualified for the finals by knocking out one of the tournament favorites, India, on Wednesday.

It was probably the match of the tournament so far considering it had everything a cricket fan would want to see on the cricket field. From brilliant spells of bowling to comeback innings and eagle-eyed throws at crunch moments, the match kept every cricket fan in the world glued to their television screens.

Relive the action here:

The most interesting revelation about the match is that the New Zealand team watched the highlights of Pakistan-India Champions Trophy final before their crucial semi-final. The Kiwi players admitted that the most key learning from Pakistan’s victory over India was how to remove the key Indian batsmen, especially Kohli, with seam and swing early in the innings.

Mohammad Amir’s magical bowling spell inspired the likes of Trent Boult and Matt Henry to go down hard on the Indian top-order considering it was the only way to win against a team like India while defending a low total.

  • Shame Pakistan did not watch their own final against India to learn something from it. Never mind at least some one else did.
