Xiaomi Announces a Three-Layer Hydrating Hair Dryer

Xiaomi, over the past year, has been launching lifestyle products every week. All these products are reasonable, top of the line and extremely useful mainly due to their features and low price. Another innovative product being crowdfunded under Xiaomi’s Youpin platform is the Zhibai Three-layer Hydrating Hair Dryer.

Seems fancy right? It is.

The hairdryer has been designed to keep your hair silky smooth without causing frizz like the typical negative ion hairdryer. It not only dries your hair but also nourishes them for an overall healthy look.

Design and Construction

Appearance-wise, the hairdryer has a relatively odd shape and will only be available in jellyfish purple color.

The paint job looks pretty decent though, to keep the clean and minimalistic approach Xiaomi has used the anti-dirty hand paint on the product. The odd-looking sleek design even won the German Red Dot Design Award.

Internals

Zhibai Three-layer Hydrating Hair Dryer comes with a high performance and high-speed motor which delivers 1.6m per minute wind power.

It is also equipped with 6-wing airfoil blades that are dynamically balanced and made in a way to increase the wind pressure while preventing it from being too dry. Hence, the air blown out does not cause frizzy hair.

Working

This innovative hair dryer uses a three-layer water-cooling wind known as water ion technology. As compared to the negative ion technology used in generic hair dryers this new technology not only instills moisture and nourishment in the hair but also tightens the scales promoting shinier and frizz-less hair.

It has a separate hot and cold air duct which is controlled by the NTC smart temperature control technology to prevent enduring thermal damage on your hair. There is also a smaller cold air duct on the outside to prevent the body of the dryer from overheating.

Pricing and Availability

The release date of the dryer is not confirmed yet, but it is presently available on Xiaomi’s Youpin website for crowdfunding at 799 yuan (Rs. 18,580). It will eventually get a retail price tag of $188.
